Evening Session:
3-6p.m. Open house.
6-8p.m. Home performance crash course for homeowners.
The event will feature a stop on the “Proof is Possible” Tour, a nationwide tour by screen personalities Grace and Corbett Lunsford, in which the pair crosses the nation (ongoing from April 2016 to January 2017) in a high-performance tiny house on wheels called the Tiny Lab. Their mission is to revolutionize the home market by teaching consumers and contractors to use scientific testing to prove that home performance energy efficiency work meets quality standards.
The event will also feature the Green Jobs Training Center’s mobile lab. Funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the mobile lab is mechanically designed to operate like a traditional home, allowing educators to provide hands-on training and all types of field-testing, as well as cost savings. Dozens of real-life scenarios can be demonstrated in a fraction of the time it takes in traditional site visits.
PSEG Long Island and the Town of East Hampton will hold tabling events at both locations, featuring information for residential and commercial customers. PSEG Long Island will provide rebates on such items as energy efficient appliances and swimming pool pumps, and will also provide information on free home performance audits for East Hampton customers with central air conditioning units. The Town of East Hampton, in partnership with the Sustainability Institute at Molloy College’s Long Island Green Homes Consortium, will provide information on free residential home energy audits for homeowners without central air.
