The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and take comments from the public on both the EA and the Proposed Sale Notice (PSN) which outlines the terms and conditions for the lease auction for the NY Wind Energy Area.

5 pm – Registration

5:30 – BOEM presentation: Director Abby Hopper will give a presentation on BOEM’s offshore wind leasing efforts to date and a brief overview of the EA and PSN. Following her presentation there will be a Q&A/public comment opportunity. It will be informal (ie they are not going to keep a list and call people in order). A court reporter will be present and all questions and comments will be part of the official record. They will likely ask that people keep it brief and provide more lengthy commentary in written form prior to the 7/6 deadline.

Once the Q&A/comment period concludes, there will be a slight variation on the “Open House” format for the conclusion of the meeting. There will be 3 tables set up on different topics (BOEM leasing process generally, auction format/PSN, & environmental issues/EA) where people can continue the conversation, get more details etc. The meeting will conclude no later than 8 pm.
