East End Climate Action Network (eeCAN) will host a full-day launch event on August 16, 2014 to build awareness about sustainability, renewable energy and climate change resiliency. Activities will include environment-themed games for kids, small “teach-in” circles with sustainability experts, a showcase of local and national green businesses and earth-inspired artwork. Food, drink, live music, and theatrical performances will be available throughout the day. There will be opportunities for folks to get more involved in local sustainability and climate change efforts, including solar energy consultations, beach clean-ups and membership sign-up for locally-acting environmental groups.
