LIPA: Let’s Turn, Not Burn!
Gov. Cuomo, the State Legislature and LIPA promised us to select 400 MW of renewable energy this year when PSEG took over as Long Island's utility company. Join us on October 30, 2014 at 10 AM at the LIPA Headquarters in Uniondale to call on Gov. Cuomo, PSEG Long Island and the LIPA Board to keep their promise to Long Islanders by investing in offshore wind now. Wear blue to show your support!

In response to Long Islanders’ demands for cleaner power, last year LIPA committed to purchasing 280MW of new renewable energy, enough to power 150,000 homes. The LIPA Board of Trustees is expected to decide on this new power source by the end of the year. Choosing offshore wind would make New York’s first offshore wind farm a reality.
Building a large-scale offshore wind project will attract new businesses, create jobs and grow our economy while providing Long Island with clean, reliable power. At the same time, it will reduce our dependence on polluting fossil fuels and clean up our air.
Let’s make sure LIPA, PSEG and Governor Cuomo don’t miss this historic opportunity to make Long Island, and New York, a national renewable energy leader.
