PSEG and LIPA are currently reviewing projects to fulfill a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the South Fork of Long Island, and will be deciding between an offshore wind project with battery storage off the east end of Long Island or a new fossil fuel plant. PSEG/LIPA seem to be very close to a decision and Governor Cuomo could play a critical role in which proposal(s) are selected, so it is crucial he hears from Long Island stakeholders and pushes for the approval of offshore wind before the next LIPA Board Meeting on May 18th.
