Calling all educators and nonprofits! If you are looking for a way to engage students in your community and teach them about renewable energy technology, there is a free resource you can utilize. The National Renewable Energy Lab hosts virtual experiences for students to teach them about various topics related to renewable energy from engineering to sustainability careers.
The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) hosts virtual tours for students in grades 4-12. Their expertise and state of the art facility tour will leave students beaming with curiosity about renewable energy and how it is shaping our future. The virtual tours are hosted on Wednesdays at 10:00am (MST).
They host virtual experiments for students K-6 that are centered on solar, wind, or energy transformation. These experiments are hosted every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-2:30pm (MST).
NREL also hosts STEM sessions where they explore a specific career or topic in the renewable energy sector. These STEM sessions are hosted Wednesdays at 1:00pm (MST). They are available for students in grades 4-12.
Hearing from experts in the field are a great way for students to learn about possible career paths, green energy, and how the United States is transitioning to a renewable energy economy.
