On Monday, November 20 at 5 PM Applied Energy Group (AEG) will present the new South Fork Peak Savers program, an initiative to help reduce peak electricity demand on the South Fork during the summer and save energy year-round.

South Fork Peak Savers is a program helping businesses and residents on the South Fork reduce energy consumption, save money and preserve the environment. The program plays an important part in helping East Hampton and Southampton townships achieve their goals to provide 100% of community-wide electricity consumption from renewable energy sources.

The program offers free NEST thermostat(s) to customers participating in Rush Hour Rewards or a $250 incentive per thermostat (for up to two thermostats) to customers with existing NEST thermostats for participating in Rush Hour Rewards. Customers who install NEST thermostats can save 10-25% on heating and cooling utility bills.

South Fork Peak Savers also offers $250 rebate added to the $350 rebate from PSEG Long Island, a total of $600 to customers installing Variable Speed Pool Pumps. The super efficient pumps save up to 80% of pool pump energy usage.

Commercial customers in East Hampton and Southampton are eligible to receive free LED lighting upgrades, free Smart Thermostats, and enhanced Central Air rebates. 

In addition to this new initiative, the Energy Sustainability Committee will discuss its 100% renewable energy portfolio, free home energy audits offered under the Long Island Green Homes program and other clean energy efforts to date.

(Note that usually the committee meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 5 PM). Meetings are open to the public.
