Your pool pump could be costing you. Pool pumps are often-overlooked energy hogs, costing up to $500 a year to run. An ENERGY STAR certified variable-speed pool pump can use up to 75% less energy and can save up to $350 a year, over a standard unit.

Rebate Offer

You can receive $950 in combined pool pump rebates for the installation of your ENERGY STAR variable-speed pool pump(s) (1/2 horsepower or larger).

Combined Rebates

• $350 PSEG Long Island for each pool pump
• $500 South Fork Peak Savers for each pool pump
• Up to $100 in additional manufacturer’s rebates for select models

General Eligibility

• Pump must be listed as an Energy Star variable-speed pool pump, ½ horsepower or larger
• Customer must have an active PSEG Long Island Account
• Pump must be installed by a current, participating PSEG Long Island dealer or installer
• Device(s) must be installed east of the Shinnecock canal

• Step Two: Purchase eligible equipment.
• Step Three: Apply for the PSEG Long Island $350 rebate.
• Step Four: Apply for the South Fork Peak Savers $500 rebate.

Long Island Assembly Members, Community, Conservation Leaders Call on Gov. Cuomo, LIPA to Commit to Offshore Wind

Assembly Delegation letter & 20,000 petitions signatures presented at rally 

Uniondale – Today, Assemblyman Englebright joined dozens of community leaders at a rally outside LIPA headquarters calling on Governor Cuomo and LIPA to commit to offshore wind power this year. The Assemblyman presented LIPA with a letter of from the Long Island delegation that highlights the tremendous economic opportunity that would come with building wind off Long Island’s coasts.

In addition to the letter, conservation groups presented LIPA and the Department of Public Service with more than 20,000 petition signatures. The groups urged LIPA to follow through on their commitment to invest in 280MW of new renewable energy this year by choosing an offshore wind project 30 miles off the coast of Montauk.

Currently over 50,000 homes and businesses on Long Island derive all or part of their electricity from the sun. The cost of solar panels has been dropping steadily over time, and between rebates offered by PSEG-Long Island and federal and state tax credits, in most cases solar energy systems are paid off in 5-10 years. Once paid off, aside from a modest fee connecting you to the grid, the electricity your panels generate is free.
