 ShorehamAerial.jpg

SIZE:
9.5MWac (14.25MWdc)

ANNUAL CLEAN ENERGY GENERATED:
18,336,045 kWh

LOCATION:
108 Route 25A, Shoreham, NY 11786

DEVELOPMENT STAGE:
Pre-Construction

PROJECT SUMMARY:
The Shoreham Solar Farm is a 9.5MWac fixed-tilt solar photovoltaic facility in pre-construction in Shoreham, NY. The project will generate clean, safe solar energy with zero emissions, and will displace approximately 12,644 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions each year. The project will not produce any noise, and a vegetative buffer will be installed around the perimeter of the project site to protect the local viewshed and maintain the rural character of the area. Following the end of the project's useful life, the site will be restored to its original condition. The project has received site plan approval and is currently in the pre-construction phase.

Global climate change threatens the area with dangers like rising sea levels, an increase in the intensity of storms including hurricanes, etc.  By promoting the adoption of locally-produced renewable energy, we can help preserve our community for tomorrow’s generation, while strengthening the local electrical system’s reliability today.

Benefits of solar:

  • Reduces harmful emissions and delivers reliable power when our grid needs it the most.
  • Predictable low cost energy for years to come.
  • Sustainable, renewable.
  • Following its useful life, the project will be decommissioned – the facility will be removed and land will be restored to pre-facility conditions according to input from local authorities, conservation groups and key stakeholders.

HELP NEW YORK MEET CLEAN ENERGY GOALS
