    Great program on PBS WLIW, NewsHour! Interesting that Statoil has put in a bid for wind power for offshore LI.

    I understand you will be at the Friday Night Dialogues on SI this evening. Can I make a pitch for you to discuss the opportunities for SI and the East End to build Community Solar Farms or Co-ops? Many of us would like to invest and use solar (and wind, etc) and need a way to be part of something local the way a CSA Farm share might work. Shelter Island has many potential sites for these small arrays (Town owned sites like the capped land fill, open space as well as private land holding for lease). I also understand the need for larger facilities off shore wind and large scale PV installations. There is something to be said about a homegrown version that the Community based solar farm represents. Here’s the article that sparked my interest;

    I sent you a letter to the Middle Highway address. It came back marked by the Post Office as “undeliverable”. We are a not for profit group helping property owners with the deer nuisance problem. We took 146 deer from private properties during this past archery season. If you’ve got a problem with the deer and want to do something about it please contact me at: Long Island Deer Solutions. 631 504 0112

    Thank you for asking about this.
    You are right, PSEG Long Island has filed comments with the NYS Department of Public Service arguing that the current net metering practices should be evaluated and changed.
    You can read the various comments (Case 15-E-0751- In the Matter of the Value of Distributed Energy Resources – Policy Statement of PSEG Long Island) here: . PSEG-LI’s comments are at{F3F55B8E-971F-4CAF-BA53-5572BEC49A49}
    We are working with a number of organizations to oppose this idea. You can voice your opinion directly to the DPS on this case online at . You could also write letters to the editors of Newsday and other local papers, as well as contacting your state assembly and senate representatives.
    Thanks again for flagging this issue.

    I just read in Newsday that PSEGLI. May discontinue net metering. I have solar PV panels on my roof and thus net-metering. Is it true? Can I voice my objection and to whom
