What: Public Kick-off Meetings for 2016 Hamlet and Business Studies

Where and When:

-Town Board Presentation and Overview: 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 15th at Town Hall

-Kickoff for Amagansett and Wainscott Hamlets: 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 15th at Town Hall

-Kickoff for Downtown Montauk and Montauk Harbor Hamlets: 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 15th at Montauk Playhouse Gymnasium

-Kickoff for Downtown Montauk and Montauk Harbor Hamlets: 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 16th at Montauk Playhouse Gymnasium

-Kickoff for East Hampton and Springs Hamlets: 7:00 PM Wednesday March 16th at Town Hall

Why: The Kickoff meetings will help the consulting team better understand community needs and ideas for the Hamlet Study, a year-long look at the unique issues affecting the commercial areas within the six hamlets of East Hampton, Springs, Wainscott, Amagansett, Downtown Montauk and Montauk Harbor. The resulting plans will show how to shape future development to create dynamic, walkable centers while preserving open space and enhancing the unique character of each hamlet. We also need your input on The Business Study, which will recommend concrete steps the Town and the business community can take to maintain a thriving economy while serving the needs of part- and full-time residents and preserving the local character of the hamlets.
